KIRKSTALL Crusaders Whites Under-13s bagged their first league win of the season with a 5-2 success at Gipton Juniors Under-13s in Division Three of the Garforth League.

Player of the match Lewis Binder slammed in a hat-trick, supported by a goal each from Alex de Carvalho das Neves and Zeshan Yasir. Kirkstall’s Jay Berkley also made a great debut while captain Oli Wigglesworth, Owen Thompson, Maty Mather and Glenn Mazyondo all excelled.

Wrenthorpe Rangers Under-13s enjoyed a 6-3 victory at home to Whitkirk Wanderers Under-13s in Division Two. Luke Arnett opened the Wrenthorpe scoring after just 20 seconds, and further goals followed through a brace from Keshav Nair plus strikes from Ewan Hallows, Mason Spencer and George Wilkes. Robert Pretty was Wrenthorpe’s player of the match.

Drighlington Juniors Under-13s gained a valuable point in a goalless draw at leaders Westend Lions Under-13s in Division One of the Huddersfield League.

Drighlington Juniors Under-13s B were celebrating after a 3-2 success at home to Almondbury Lions Under-13s in Division Two. Drig’ went 1-0 down but led 2-1 at the break thanks to two Tom Solomons goals. Joe Clarke increased the lead before the visitors pulled one back. Ben Boocock took the Drig’ player of the match award.

Hall Green United Under-13s fell to a 4-1 reverse at home to Howden Clough Under-13s in Division 5A. Green’s player of the match Alex Welch laid on the sole United goal for Alex Waplington while Charlie Whale was given the best attitude. Green’s Tom Safhill was also superb at the back.

Hall Green United Under-12s missed out on a cup final as hosts Elland B Under-12s edged a 4-3 success on penalties after a 2-2 draw after extra time in the Huddersfield Trophy semi-finals. Dalton Jackson bagged a normal time brace for Green who netted penalties through Emily Sykes, player of the match Alex Tunningley and Brook Slater. Hall Green United Under-11s were floored 4-0 at Westend Tigers Under-11s team in Division 4B. The damage would have been worse but for ‘keeper Jack Clements making some incredible saves.
