Battyeford Belles Girls Under-11s have secured the West Riding Girls Under-11s Division One Title still with two matches to play.

Sunday’s 3-1 success at home to Guiseley Girls Blues Under-11s sparked the celebrations.

The Belles – who have lost only one game all season – dominated from the off with Eleanor Hobson scoring the first from within the penalty area.

Millie Padgett added the second after a lovely through ball from Evie Glynn to send the Belles 2-0 in at half time. The Guiseley goalkeeper was kept very busy throughout and after a dazzling solo run Evie Glynn scored to send the Belles 3-0 up. A Guiseley consolation gave no cause for concern to the Belles who now have a West Riding Girls Cup final to look forward to against Queensbury Celtic Under-11s. The Belles won that competition last year.

The title winning Belles team coached by Vaughan Hobson and assistant Jason Edwards consists of Elias Swaine, Jess Edwards, Charlotte Griffiths, Lucy Briggs, Libbie Booker, Evie Glynn, coach Vaughan Hobson, Shannon Lawler, Chloe Wilkins, Millie Padgett, Eleanor Hobson, Emily Fuller and captain Evie Hargreaves.

Elsewhere, Farsley AFC Ladies Under-15s made a superb second-half comeback to earn a point against Crossley Juniors Under-15s at Throstle Nest.

With her side trailing 2-0, Farsley’s Holly Buchan lobbed the visiting keeper from out wide on the left to reduce Crossley’s lead before the visitors extended it to 3-1. Then Josie Johnson made it 3-2 with another stunning finish before Aaliyah Allen beat two defenders down the right, cut in and fired past the keeper from a tight angle to equalise. But the drama wasn’t over as Crossley regained the lead before Alisha Henderson charged down the keeper’s clearance and put the ball in the net in the dying seconds.
