ROBERT BLOOMFIELD’S hat-trick guided Wakefield City to a 3-2 success at Golcar United Reserves that took the visitors second in Division One.

Bloomfield’s treble earned unbeaten Wakefield their eighth win from the 10 league games they have played so far this term. With West Horton hammered 6-1 at Route One Rovers, Wakefield climbed from third to second, with City only behind leaders Holmfirth Town on goal difference. Wakefield also have three games in hand.

Holmfirth beat bottom-club visitors Hunsworth 5-0 through a Louis Langford treble and Paul Jagger brace.

Britannia Sports moved third and on the same points as Wakefield but having played one game more after a 5-0 win at home to fourth-bottom Churwell Lions.

Elsewhere, a hat-trick from Mat Hannan was in vain for Ventus/Yeadon Celtic who were chinned 5-4 at Wibsey who jumped above them into eighth. Terry Hargreaves also struck for Celtic who are now ninth after a home brace from Daniel O’Donnell was backed up by strikes from Callum Armitage, Dave Halley and Jamie Brennan.

Third-bottom Westbrook YMCA were floored 4-0 tenth-placed Tyersal who struck twice through Danny Farrar and once through Wayne Wright and Safran Terry.

In the Premier, Littletown’s home clash with Honsley was postponed.

Newsome moved top by battering visiting Halifax Irish 8-0 while Huddersfield YMCA moved second with a 5-1 win at home to Salts. Bottom club Overthorpe Sports Club were blitzed 7-2 by visiting Golcar United who moved fifth. A Jack Allerton strike and Golcar own goal failed to save the hosts.

Tingley Athletic were beaten 3-1 at Bradford FC in Division Two, which saw a 14-0 win for TVR United at home to Tyersal Reserves.
