Transfer targets are dominating debate on among the Elland Road faithful.
Leeds packed with midfielders
I’m not sure a centre-mid is the priority really for Leeds United in 2017/18.
The squad is packed with them although they are all generally only good for sideways and backwards passing.
I’d ship some out before we bring anyone else in at this position.
We do need to improve on the wings though; Souleymane Doukara is not a winger, he is okay in patches but nothing more than a 70+ minute sub.
I think Stuart Dallas is ineffective. Again, he is sometimes good but most of the time he is anonymous.
I like the sound of Ezgjan Alioski, who we have been linked with.
He scored 17 goals and 14 assists in 34 matches.
I wouldn’t hold out much hope for signing British players; they are too expensive.
But I could see us getting a couple on loan.
And I’m not sure whether our current management have much idea on which youngsters from Premier League teams are any good.

United need their ‘A’ game
Having just seen the initial Championship table I notice that Leeds are currently an unimpressive 13th.
This is why I suggest we officially change our name to ‘Aardvark-Leeds United FC’. A simple change that would immediately catapult us to the top. What’s not to like ?
(7 out of 10 ant-eaters think this is a ‘moderate to good’ idea.)

‘Robbed’ of trip to south coast
Nothing new about these fixtures (Championship 2017/18).
Televised game first up, Forest over the Christmas period, just Brighton’s promotion ‘robbing’ us of a Tuesday-night trip to the south coast in February!

Promotion still a pipe dream
I’m afraid far too many (Leeds United fans) believe in fairies, are gullible beyond belief and are going to be disappointed this season.
If they think buying or recruiting cast-offs from around Europe is the way to get promotion out of this league (the Championship), I can assure them it is not.
We have had Massimo Cellino replaced with another Italian who we now potentially see repeating the same mantra as Cellino, only in a different format.
(I don’t think) the guy has the money to get us out of this league, hence the appointment of an ‘unknown’ as manager and hiring Orta who will pick and choose the players for him’.
Unless somebody comes along and invests properly into the playing squad with serious finances, then Premier League football for this club (Leeds United) will continue to be a pipe dream.

Music to Chris Wood’s ears
Thomas Christiansen has the talent and experience of being a very good striker at a good level, which should be music to Chris Wood’s ears.
He may well improve him.
