Manchester City star De Bruyne faced Leeds in the final round of fixtures before the October international break with Pep Guardiola's side blitzing the Whites in the opening quarter but ultimately only leaving Elland Road with a 1-1 draw after a strong Whites comeback in the second half.

De Bruyne then headed for international duty with Belgium where he joined up with Wolves defender or midfielder Dendoncker who gas given the Whites lowdown by De Bruyne ahead of Wolves' clash at Elland Road in the first game back after the October break on Monday night.

In a contest that resembled almost the opposite of the clash against City, Leeds dominated the first half against Nuno Espirito Santo's visitors but then found themselves on the back foot during the second period en route to a 1-0 defeat.

"We knew before the game that it was going to be a very, very tough game and we felt that, especially in the first 20 or 30 minutes, we suffered a lot,” Dendoncker told Wolves' Matchday Live Extra.

"That’s just the way they play. They go man against man and I don’t we or any team is used to that.

"Kevin De Bruyne told me they played them before the international break and he told me you will see that it will be very hard because they go man to man.

"But he also said that after 30 minutes they leave spaces and I think that’s what you could see.

"I know the first half wasn’t really good from our side because we were looking how to find the spaces, how to deal with them and I think in the second half we managed it way better.

"To get three points there is really difficult and I don’t think a lot of teams will do it.”
