  • RESULT - Wigan 1-2 Leeds United

5. Short free-kick routine from Leeds. McGurk unleashes a shot from distance which requires a great save from Tickle to keep it out. Dean follows in, hits the deck but nothing given. Half an appeal for a penalty.

8. Wigan see a free-kick cleared by Leeds. The Whites doing a solid job so far. They’ve seen plenty of the ball, worked the goalkeeper. Wigan starting to ask a few questions but they’re all being answered.

Leeds take the lead

11. Nice move from Leeds. Miller delivers from the right, cleared to Kenneh. He chests and volleys into the bottom corner. Lovely finish.

13. Miller down the right again, Lloyd takes him out with a late lunge and heads into the book. Wigan, just about, clear the resulting free-kick. Ball pinged around the box for a second or two.

14. Wigan free-kick comes in. It drops to a Latics shirt... free shot at goal from close-range but Van Den Heuvel is out to smother quickly. Good stop.

17. The corner is whipped in to the near post... a Wigan head meets it but it’s well over the bar.

19. Huge chance for Leeds to double the lead. Miller past his man, delivers low and Gray is sprinting into the six-yard box. He can only turn an effort onto the post. Ball pings around after.

21. Leeds knocking it around in their own half. Allen plays a loose ball backwards and it opens up for the hosts. McGee lets fly at goal and Van Den Heuvel saves well. Strong hands.

24. McHugh gathers from a Wigan throw. He cuts inside and runs to the edge of the area. Goes one way, then another. Opts to shoot and it’s an easy save. Sits up nicely.
