The Whites under head coach Simon Grayson were in the thick of a Championship promotion race in December of the 2010/11 campaign.

United travelled to Turf Moor for a pre-Christmas clash with Burnley but were out of festive cheer by the time the half-time whistle blew.

Brian Easton opened the scoring as Leeds failed to clear their lines before Jay Rodriguez pounced on a failed clearance by Alex Bruce to double the lead.

Grayson's players left the field to rousing cheers from the away end at the interval and whatever he said in the dressing room worked.

It was Max Gradel who sparked a comeback to remember with the winger finding the back of the net seven minutes after the break to bring the match to life.

Luciano Becchio then sent the travelling fans wild as he converted a well worked move to restore parity.

Leeds, though, weren't satisfied with just a point and went in search of a winner, which they got one through local boy and club captain Jonny Howson.

The midfielder set off on a run from the halfway line before curling a low effort into the bottom corner five minutes from time to cause an eruption of noise behind the net.

The goal saw the Whites move up to fourth in the table and stretch their unbeaten run to eight league games with supporters leaving Lancashire brimming from ear to ear at a memorable showing.

Here, we take a look back at the team that featured that day on a stunning afternoon:
