Leeds have seen bids for last season's star loanee rejected and are now looking to sign SC Freiburg's German international Robin Koch as an alternative option at the heart of the defence.

Having played every single minute of every single league game for Leeds last term, White had been a top target for United with the defender also on the radar of the Premier League's established big guns including champions Liverpool.

"The latest is there are a lot of conversations happening," said Levack.

"Unfortunately for the Leeds fans, Ben's just not going to be coming to Leeds.

"Brighton have categorically said there is no way they are going to sell to Leeds so unfortunately that's the case.

"There's conversations going on, Ben is away up in Scotland with the Brighton team pre-season getting himself fit, getting around the team.

"I would say watch this space over the next few days."
