The Whites Under 23s prospect and England youth international joined his former Wigan Athletic team-mate Sean McGurk, who has himself been linked with a move to Elland Road, at a session laid on by Liverpool-based Pathway Soccer Schools.

Wigan youngsters James Carragher, Tom Costello and Harry McHugh, Tranmere's Charlie Jolley and former Latics academy player Harry Jolley were also involved.

Gelhardt was captured perfecting his finishing technique in a video posted on social media that showed him rasping a bouncing ball into the very top corner of the net from well outside the area.

Leeds' 19-year-old forward scored 11 goals in 16 Premier League 2 second tier appearances last season, helping Mark Jackson's men clinch a league title and promotion.

He moved to Leeds from Wigan Athletic last summer, along with Sam Greenwood from Arsenal, and the pair formed a close partnership on and off the pitch.

Marcelo Bielsa included Gelhardt on the bench for eight Premier League fixtures but is yet to give him a senior debut.
