Tyler Roberts has thanked Leeds United's medical staff and his Whites team-mates for their support during his injury troubles.

The 21-year-old has been limited to just four starts at Elland Road this campaign having seen his season disrupted with a recurrence of a shin problem which ruled him out of the Championship play-off semi-finals last May.

Roberts has endured a second straight stop-start term under Marcelo Bielsa after seeing his summer and pre-season disrupted due to the issue which left him frustrated again.

The West Brom academy product has been hit by a number of injury problems since joining the club in January 2018.

Two goals from the bench against Hull City in late February, though, reminded the Whites fanbase of the ability he possesses when fit and able.

Celebrations at the KCOM were special for Roberts in front of a packed away end following his off-field battles, and he has now moved to thank those at Thorp Arch for ensuring he could enjoy those moments once again.

"I can't say enough about the medical team," Roberts said.

"They've been amazing, they've been patient and been through every possibility to get me back to full fitness. For everything they've done I can't thank them enough and they will be one of the main parts of any success I have.

"My team-mates have been amazing. We are a good bunch of lads and we all get on really well.

"At a club it is important that all of the lads gel well together and they have always helped me through it. I've tried to keep as positive as I can be, they've been positive with me, and we've carried on laughing and smiling and kept the faith.

"Scoring the two goals was an amazing feeling, but I was more happy to just be back out on the pitch as it's been a tough run for me. To get back out there and help the lads secure the three points was great."
