It wasn't a dream, it was real, but for the 25-year-old account manager, it was the highlight of 2020, nevermind lockdown.

Originally from Oxford, Harry has lived in Leeds for the last eight years but, thanks to his dad, a lifetime White, has always called Leeds United his team and gets to Elland Road as often as he can.

Five weeks ago his girlfriend Chelsey entered them into a competition to win a Leeds shirt from Deliveroo, but the prize eventually arrived with an unexpected courier.

"My girlfriend Chelsey won a competition with [club sponsor] Deliveroo," he said.

"Leeds put out a tweet about five weeks ago saying next time you order from Deliveroo use the code Leeds United to be in with a chance of winning and two weeks later we got an email saying you've won. They just said we'll be arranging to drop the shirt off to you.

"We got an email yesterday saying would you mind if we film it for the Leeds Twitter page etc, so we said fine. I thought surely not, surely a player won't show up as well? I've been thinking all night who could it possibly be and then I went to the front door midmorning and there was Jermaine with a great big grin on his face."

Beckford remains hugely popular with Leeds fans and the sight of him at the door, holding the signed shirt, was a moment to remember for Harry.

"It doesn't get much better than that," he said.

"He was so friendly, such a real bloke. He's absolutely down to earth, a lovely bloke. We talked about lockdown, how it's been for each other and then just Leeds United really.

"The Manchester United goal [Beckford scored at Old Trafford] is the first thing everyone thinks about isn't it. When he was playing for Leeds it was a real struggle but him and Luciano Becchio were outstanding players and you can't describe him as anything other than a Leeds legend.

"It's the highlight of the year. Everyone has been thinking about how their summer has been ruined, mine's just been made."

The Championship season and Leeds United's promotion push get back underway on Sunday at Cardiff City and Harry summed up the feelings of a city as he predicted the outcome.

"Excited but nervous at the same time," he told the YEP.

"If we can get a good win on Sunday, that will be a real big confidence boost for the rest of the season. I think 3-0 or 4-0 could be done, get that in the bag and then there'll be no stopping us going up."
