The Swans were linked with a loan move for United's 19-year-old Academy forward in the run up to transfer deadline day though Leeds were never likely to let the teenager leave Elland Road.

Greenwood's development is being carefully guided at Thorp Arch and the teenager has impressed Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa with his displays for United's under-23s.

Asked about reported interest in Greenwood in an article by Wales Online, Cooper responded: "I don’t know.

"We were in for quite a number of players over the last few months, some that were kept lukewarm and some you turned down straight away.

"There’s a long list of players we enquired about."
