Former Leeds United loanee Connor Wickham is relishing the opportunity to face off with the Whites in Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Sunderland.
Wickham made five appearances for the Whites while on loan but failed to score during his spell.
He then played a key role for Sunderland upon his return, scoring five goals in only three games to help the Wearside club surge out of the relegation places and stay in the Premier League.
While his time at Elland Road was no vintage spell for the England Under-21 international, he is still looking forward to the game on Sunday.
He said: “It is a draw that everyone can really look forward to and I spent time on loan there last year so it will be good to play against them.
“It’s not going to be an easy game but because of the way we’re playing we will head into the game with plenty of confidence.”
Sunderland fell to a 3-2 loss against Manchester City in the Premier League on Thursday, but currently sit 14th in the Premier League.
