Stuart Dallas says Leeds United's upturn in form has been encouraging but insists there is still a long way to go in the race for promotion.

United have won four and drawn one of their last five league outings, a run of results which was preceded by just two victories in 11 games.

Marcelo Bielsa's side saw an 11-point gap disappear in their push for a return to the Premier League, but a recent turnaround in form has seen United earn themselves a slender cushion once again.

Leeds welcome Huddersfield Town to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon looking to build on a now five point advantage over third-place Fulham with just 10 games of the campaign remaining.

The Whites sit second in the Championship just one point behind division leaders West Bromwich Albion ahead of this weekend's round of fixtures.

Bielsa's outfit cruised to a 4-0 victory over Hull City last time out, but Northern Irish utility man Dallas has admitted that cool heads remain after a couple of strong weeks.

"We needed to get back to how we had been playing," Dallas told LUTV.

"Obviously before Christmas we knew that clean sheets are massive for us. We know if we keep clean sheets that it gives you a better chance of winning the game.

"Before Christmas we were defending really well. We went on that run where we conceded in a number of games, but it's four wins on the bounce now after a decent result at Brentford.

"It's encouraging but there's still a long way to go yet."

He added: "A lot of people have said the games we've had have been favourable.

"We've played two teams now that are fighting for their lives at the bottom and they can be more difficult.

"We've gone to Hull early kick-off and got off to a brilliant start. In the first 10 to 15 minutes we were good but for whatever reason we didn't play very well.

"We knew at half-time we had to correct a few things."

United's victory over the Tigers at the KCOM featured a stunning team goal which received adulation from fans and pundits alike.

The strike - which started in the left-back position between Dallas and Jack Harrison - was the third of four goals in East Yorkshire as substitute Tyler Roberts eventually fired home from inside the box.

"I didn't really have anywhere else to go [with the ball]," Dallas reflected, "but you see straight away it [the pass] takes four or five players out of the game.

"Jack Harrison does unbelievably well again. We then break at pace. It comes into Tyler and out to Helder [Costa] and even Helder's awareness to get it across to Klichy [Mateusz Klich] and then Klichy's touch back... I think it was meant for me!

"But I'm delighted for Tyler. He's had a tough time and you can see what it meant to everybody and him.

"When we have safe possession and we're going in numbers we can get caught.

"You just have to be clued in when to do it. On the training ground we know what our shape should be when we break. It's something we work on every day."
