Leeds are finally heading back to the country's top-flight for the first time since the club's relegation in May 2004 having romped to the Championship title by finishing ten points clear of second-placed West Brom.

Dallas knows United will face a difficult task adapting to life in the country's top tier but the Northern Ireland international says his side will be looking to follow the example set by the newly-promoted Blades.

Chris Wilder's side ultimately beat Leeds to the Championship's second automatic promotion place in the 2018-19 campaign and without making widescale changes the Blades sealed a ninth-placed finish on their top flight return, ending up just two points behind Arsenal.

Backed by the club’s massive fan base, Dallas says Leeds will look to do the same.

"The club will obviously strengthen and we'll go next season looking to do exactly what Sheffield United have done," said Dallas, speaking to the BBC.

"I think they deserve massive credit. I don't think they've added too many players to their team and it just shows what hard work can do.

"They've an incredible manager so I'm sure that's what the club will be looking to do.

"We have the fan base to really push us on and compete next year. We know how difficult it's going to be.

"The Premier League is the best in the world and you've got to be on it every single week to make sure you've got to get results."

Dallas also said that this season's promotion in the ultimate style of champions was the perfect gift to fallen greats Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and Jack Charlton.

Whites legends Hunter, Charlton have all passed away in the last four months with the trio integral parts of United's all conquering side under legendary boss Don Revie in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Dallas added: "The club have been through a difficult time in the past few weeks and months obviously with Jack Charlton, Trevor Cherry and Norman Hunter,"

"That's for them (promotion). I'm sure if they were here today they would be so proud.

"I'm sure they were looking down on us. It's been an emotional time for everybody involved and hopefully that can put a smile on peoples faces."
