Slaven Bilic admits "mini crisis" as West Brom and Leeds United falter to throw Championship promotion race open

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has admitted that the Baggies are in a "mini crisis" as the Championship's top two continued to falter this weekend.

Albion are now winless in six games having fallen to a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the Hawthorns on Monday evening thanks to an early Tyrese Campbell strike for the visitors.

Bilic's side remain at the top of the table ahead of Leeds United by a single point - who themselves have endured a drop in form - in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa has seen his team pick up one victory in their last seven fixtures, with Fulham now just four points behind the Whites in third place.

Nottingham Forest, though, could cut the gap to just two points with victory over Reading on Wednesday night - the Whites had opened up an 11 point advantage over third just last month.

Baggies head coach Bilic admitted after his sides defeat to the Potters that they were going through a "mini crisis" in the Black Country.

"It's the same group of players with six games without a win," Bilic said.

"OK, it's a mini crisis, but we are still on top of the table. This group of players, together with staff and the fans, have done it.

"So there's no magic formula - commit yourself more, work hard, dig in and get it back.

"It's a blow for us, of course, but we can't make excuses or go into a corner and say this and that."

The loss for Albion came just two days after Bielsa conceded that his own team were in their "worst moment" of the campaign.

Queens Park Rangers handed Leeds back-to-back Championship defeats for the first time this season with a controversial 1-0 win at Loftus Road on Saturday lunchtime.

United now face a weekend off before welcoming Millwall to Elland Road next Tuesday.

West Brom make the trip to the capital in FA Cup action to take on Bilic's former side West Ham ahead of a trip to Cardiff City in midweek.
