White has played every single minute of every single league game this term under Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa who signed the defender on a season-long loan last summer following his spells at Newport County and Peterborough United.

After speaking with Newport boss Mike Flynn and Brighton's Liam Rosenior, Weaver says he had been informed there was never any doubt as to how the 22-year-old would fare at Leeds despite arriving with no experience of Premier League or Championship football.

“I was talking to Mike Flynn at Newport County before any games this season because he’d been on loan at Newport," said Weaver, speaking on Sky Sports’ EFL podcast.

"Mike was just saying, ‘watch him, he’s unbelievable, he can play at any level, he’ll adapt to the Championship with Leeds United’. Mike had no doubt.

"There’s so much pressure on Ben White’s shoulders but you don’t see it.

"He’s so cool and calm, he just gets on with things.

“I spoke to Liam Rosenior at Brighton and they had absolutely no doubts that he’d adapt to this level.

"Andy O’Brien, who is a Liverpool scout, has watched almost every game of Ben White. The big teams are interested.

“For me, there’s just that calmness and composure.

“He’s taken everything in his stride. He’s a top-quality player.”
