United are hoping to sign 24-year-old centre-back Koch from Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg as an alternative to last season's Brighton loanee star Ben White whom the Seagulls will not sell to Leeds with big money bids having been rejected.

In the meantime, Koch has been named in Joachim Löw's 24-man squad for Germany’s UEFA Nations League matches against Spain and Switzerland next month and the centre-back says he is not affected by speculation about his future.

Koch, already capped twice by Germany, joined Freiburg from FC Kaiserslautern in August 2017 and is contracted at the club until next summer.

"I’m still here and I’m the type that I let all of this come my way and don’t worry too much about it. That’s why it all fits,” said Koch, speaking to Kicker.De.

Reflecting on his latest international call, Koch said: "I'm very happy about the nomination and to see the guys in the national team for a long time, even if we were in contact in the group from time to time."
