The ramifications of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic have meant that clubs across the country had to jump in to the current campaign after a significantly reduced pre-season, and the delayed start proceedings means that teams have been playing catch-up from day one.

As a result, the games keep on coming thick and fast for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, with a number of fixtures being played in midweek and on Monday evenings.

But it would appear that the Whites are not too keen on a long weekend, and have struggled to hit their best form when kicking-off at the start of the week.

According to 888 Sport, Leeds are still yet to win a match on a Monday this season, losing two out of two so far.

Those results came against Wolves in October and Leicester City in November, with Bielsa’s men losing the two outings by an aggregate score of 5-1.

The Whites will be hoping to put their Monday night blues to bed when they face Crystal Palace at Elland Road next week.

By contrast, Leeds seemingly relish the opportunity to play in midweek, and have won three out of the four matches that they have contested on a Wednesday or Thursday in the Premier League this season.

Bielsa’s side may have lost against Everton last night, but prior to that result they had beaten Newcastle United twice and West Brom once, scoring 12 goals and conceding three.
