It’s deadline day… again but this time, it’s the final one of the summer. Premier League clubs can still sign players from fellow English clubs, so there is still plenty of business to be had. Follow it all via our daily live blog as we take you right up the 5pm deadline. 

Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Galatasaray defender Marcao with the £27m-rated Brazilian currently unhappy in Turkey. (Sabah via HITC)

Huddersfield Town have held talks with Newcastle over a deal for Rolando Aarons, who is out of contract next summer. (Daily Mail)

Two clubs from Leeds United, Arsenal and Wolves have had offers in excess of £5m turned down by Reading for Michael Olise. (Reading Chronicle)

Barry Douglas underwent his medical at Blackburn Rovers on Thursday ahead of a season-long loan move from Leeds. (Football Insider)

Leeds not expected to make Cantwell bid

Leeds United are not expected to submit a last-minute bid for Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell, according to Football Insider. 

The Whites have been linked with Cantwell in the latter stages of the transfer window, however have reportedly been put off by his £20million price tag. 

Having already spent big in the transfer market following their return to the Premier League, Leeds are reluctant to splash the cash on Cantwell. 

The Canaries are confident of retaining the services of their star man come 5pm. 

Butland set for Premier League return - reports

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is set to join Crystal Palace, the Daily Mail reports.

Palace made contact with the Potters on Thursday night and a deal is expected to be sorted out before the transfer window closes at 5pm.
