Premier League announce release time of fixtures ahead of Leeds United's top-flight return

The Whites are heading back to the country's top flight for the first time since the club's relegation in May 2004 having stormed to the Championship title in finishing ten points clear of runners-up West Brom.

The Premier League earlier said that the fixtures for the new season would be released by no later than Friday, August 21 but the Premier League have now announced the fixtures will be released at 9am on Thursday morning.

The new Premier League season will begin over the weekend of September 12-13, seven weeks after the conclusion of the delayed 2019-20 campaign in the country's battle against coronavirus.

Manchester City and Manchester United are not expected to be involved in the first weekend of action as they were guaranteed 30 days of rest following the end of their European campaigns.
