These are desperate times for Portsmouth and the scale of their crisis was shown by reports that Erik Huseklepp is set to join Birmingham City on loan.

Pompey are on a woeful run and only Huseklepp’s goals have averted a total collapse since the turn of the year.

The Danish forward scored twice in a 3-0 win at Peterborough and again in a 1-1 draw with Blackpool, and those points could be crucial in Portsmouth’s fight to avoid relegation.

But with Huseklepp’s future in doubt, the pressure for goals will rest heavily on Hungarian youngster Marko Futacs who has scored three times in his last 10 games.
