Leeds United 1 Norwich City 0: Jansson header puts Whites one point off the play...

How did YEP chief football writer Phil Hay rate the performances of the players?

Felix Wiedwald - A little lucky with the parry to Maddison but was strong under pressure in the second half and his two saves from Pritchard were excellent. 7/10

Luke Ayling - Got up and down well before half-time and a bit like Jansson, is starting to find some proper form. Just the odd loose pass. 7/10

Pontus Jansson - His second goal in two home games and showed real shades of the uncompromising Jansson that United need in their defence. 8/10

Liam Cooper - Bailed out by Wiedwald after failing to connect with a cross and leaving Pritchard to shoot but Norwich didn’t see too many chances from close range. 7/10

Gaetano Berardi - As well as he’s played for a while. Maddison is a good footballer but he was never allowed to show the full range of his talent. 7/10

Kalvin Phillips - Inches away from a goal in the first half and posed a threat from midfield. The second half was tough but he coped with it. 7/10

Ronaldo Vieira - Went off the boil after the break and was guilty of losing the ball in dangerous areas. By no means a bad day but a hard one in the end. 6/10

Pawel Cibicki - The standard of his dead-ball deliveries was notably good and he was a livewire. In the space of two weeks has started looking like a very good Championship player. 8/10

Samuel Saiz - Hit the post late on and got on the ball persistently but he tried to be too clever on occasions and his decision-making was a bit wayward. 7/10

Gjanni Alioski - Laid on the chance which Phillips drove against a post but his attacking influence was fleeting. Did some good work defensively though. 6/10

Kemar Roofe - Forced to slog and given nothing like the service he enjoyed against QPR. The impact came from elsewhere. 6/10

Substitutes

Pablo Hernandez (for Roofe, 78) - A calm head introduced at the right time and his common sense shone through. Came close to a goal. 7/10

Jay-Roy Grot (for Saiz, 81) - Can’t seem to do much right and the crowd are starting to get on his case. 5/10

Matthew Pennington (for Cibicki, 85) - Might have expected a Norwich onslaught in injury-time. It didn’t come. 5/10

Subs (not used): Andy Lonergan, Conor Shaughnessy, Vurnon Anita, Eunan O’Kane.

Referee: Darren England (Yorkshire) - His first game at Elland Road and Leeds have seen far worse officiating than this. Kept a heated second half in check. 7/10
