Leeds United transfer news: PL midfielder named as ideal Whites signing, Big name Elland Road star nears exit

Former Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer has picked out Fulham star Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa as a player who could make a positive addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad this summer.

The Cameroonian international has been a near ever-present for the Cottagers this season, making 29 appearances in the heart of midfield.

In recent days, however, there has been speculation from some quarters of the media that he could be a talent who would offer a lot to the Whites, and Palmer is inclined to agree.

Speaking to Football Fancast, he said: “I think he could play the Leeds style because Bielsa has a very distinctive style that he plays, and the one thing you’ve got to do is be mobile.

"You’ve got to be able to get around the football pitch and he can do that.

“It’ll be interesting to see because I don’t think, obviously unless the player wants to leave, financially, I don’t think Fulham will need to let any of the players go should they get relegated.”

Following this weekend's latest round of Premier League matches, Fulham are currently three points off safety with seven games left to play.

It’s also worth emphasising that at this stage, there is no suggestion that Leeds are actually monitoring Anguissa’s situation.

The 25-year-old arrived at Craven Cottage from Marseille for around £22 million in 2018, and has since gone on to make 56 appearances for the club.

So far this season, no Fulham player has registered a higher average match rating, or made more successful dribbles per game, than Anguissa.

Elsewhere, rumours continue to swirl around Rodrigo’s future at Elland Road.

Fichajes have reported on numerous occasions that the 30-year-old is unhappy with his current situation in England, despite having only signed for Leeds last summer.

As per La Razon, the Whites may still be entertaining the idea of selling him on in the coming months though.

The forward has supposedly been offered to two La Liga clubs – Real Betis and Sevilla – ahead of a potential return to Spain.

Rodrigo hasn’t started a game in the top flight since Leeds beat Newcastle United 2-1 at the end of January.
