Former Leeds United assistant coach Pep Clotet has revealed his goodwill towards the Elland Road club amid an on-going feud with ex-Whites manager Garry Monk.

Clotet was Monk's number two at Leeds United for the failed play-off push in 2016/17, but that feels a long time ago now.

Now managers of Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City respectively, Monk this week launched a stunning attack in his pre-match press conference to accuse Clotet of a 'lack of loyalty' while the pair were both working at St Andrews.

Monk refused to shake the hand of his former friend and colleague when the two sides met at Hillsborough on Wednesday, highlighting the poisonous atmosphere between the pair.

Clotet spoke out after the game to share his side of the story, and highlighted the fact that he was forced to leave an 'unbelievable' job at Leeds United as an example of his loyalty.

He said: "With Garry, all those five years together, it was very clear that I always put his interests before mine.

"I was very clear at Swansea, I was very clear in Leeds where it was fantastic and it was like a honeymoon, and for me it would have been unbelievable to stay but that was not possible because of his problems.

"And here at Birmingham, he put me in a position that I could not hold."
