YEP writer Phil Hay provides his Leeds United player ratings on the back of the 3-1 league defeat win against Nottingham Forest. Do you agree with his choices?
Rob Green
Neither he nor his defence were able to get themselves in order at Forest’s corners. 5/10
Luke Ayling
No question about who won the battle between him and Ben Osborn. Osborn was a nightmare in the first half. 5/10
Kyle Bartley
Won a lot of headers and stood up to Forest but the problems at the back cannot be ignored. 6/10
Liam Cooper
Fine for long periods of the game but the fear of a critical error somewhere at the back is always there with Leeds. 5/10
Charlie Taylor
Spent half of the game on the left wing, to better effect than Hernandez, but his crossing wasn’t good enough. 6/10
Hadi Sacko
Could have levelled at 1-0 and was as dangerous as anyone at that stage. Replaced soon after. 6/10
Liam Bridcutt
Forest’s midfield were all over the ball in the first half. Bridcutt settled in the second but the fightback was too little too late. 6/10
Ronaldo Vieira
Off the pace in comparison to Hillsborough and was lucky that the referee allowed a second bookable offence to go. 5/10
Pablo Hernandez
Probably the big disappointment of United’s first month. Struggled out wide and was more influential when he stepped inside. 5/10
Marcus Antonsson
Credit to him for his performances in August. Unfortunate to see Henderson keep out his late effort. 7/10
Chris Wood
Came into the match slowly after a very quiet first 45 minutes but didn’t carry much threat. 5/10
Substitutes:
Kalvin Phillips (for Vieira, 66) - Put Leeds back in the game with a brilliant free-kick and was inches away from scoring a second. 7/10
Kemar Roofe (for Sacko, 71) - Tried his best to make something happen but was isolated too often. 5/10
Alex Mowatt (for Hernandez, 81) - A player who Monk might wish he had started. On too late to change the result. 5/10
Subs (not used): Marco Silvestri, Lewie Coyle, Pontus Jansson, Souleymane Doukara.
Referee: Geoff Eltringham (County Durham) - Gave Forest a lot of 50-50 decisions but was hardly to blame for any of their goals. 5/10
Attendance: 20,995
