Marcelo Bielsa will no longer name his Leeds United team early, despite insisting it gave West Ham no significant advantage before the two sides met at Elland Road.

The Argentine listed the side that would face the Hammers two days before the clash, something he did on numerous occasions during the club's Championship spell under his care.

Hammers boss David Moyes was asked about Bielsa's announcement before Friday's game, a 2-1 win for the visitors to Elland Road, and insisted there was nothing outrageous in the Leeds head coach's actions because it was commonplace outside English football. He did go on to question whether or not it might be a 'bluff.'

Bielsa, while certain there was nothing incorrect about his spontaneous decision to name his side, is keen to avoid any 'backlash' and will refrain in future.

NAME DROPPING - Marcelo Bielsa will no longer reveal his team early for Leeds United games. Last week West Ham boss David Moyes said there was nothing outrageous about the announcement but suggested it could be a bluff for all anyone knew. "Nothing about it was incorrect," he said.

"It would be incorrect if we thought that knowing the 11 of the opponent gives you an important advantage. For me it doesn't give you an important advantage. From now on to avoid any backlash I will not continue to give answers on the players who can or cannot play on the weekends. Imagine that the manager of West Ham says I anticipate the team due to vanity, for me to name the team ahead of time is something I shouldn't do.

"Anyway the formation, the 11 I gave without knowingly giving it. They asked me over a certain position in particular, I spontaneously gave the 11 with the player playing in that position."

When asked if he had sensed a backlash to last week's press conference Bielsa said he was unaware of how others interpreted his actions but reiterated his point about the lack of advantage for the opponent.

"I wouldn't know what to tell you, I don't know how other people interpret it but what I can assure you is that it doesn't constitute a relevant advantage to know the 11 of the team you were playing," he added.

There was no new team or injury news from today's press conference for Leeds' midweek game against Newcastle United, other than Bielsa's confirmation that striker Patrick Bamford is not carrying an injury.

The Whites will be missing Robin Koch, who last week had surgery on a knee problem and will be out for around three months and Diego Llorente, who has an unspecified muscle problem and is expected to be unavailable for two to three weeks. Pablo Hernandez continued to build up his match fitness with an appearance in the Under 23s side who beat Aston Villa in Premier League 2 action yesterday.
