Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United will be without Pablo Hernandez and Jean-Kevin Augustin for this weekend's Championship restart at Cardiff City.

The Spanish playmaker is set to miss Sunday lunchtimes clash with the Bluebirds having suffered a setback amidst the preparations for the trip to south Wales.

Leeds will continue their push for Premier League football for the first time since March after the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to the season three months ago.

Hernandez, though, is expected to return to training at Thorp Arch next week and could be available for the Whites crunch clash with promotion rivals Fulham at Elland Road.

Loanee Augustin will also be absent from Bielsa's squad in Cardiff with the United head coach revealing that the striker is undergoing "necessary" individual fitness work.

Adam Forshaw also remains sidelined with a hip issue that has kept him out of match action since September and the midfielder isn't expected to feature in any of the remaining nine fixtures.

"Pablo is returning to training next Wednesday," Bielsa told his pre-match press conference.

"Forshaw is completing his recovery process. Augustin is not injured since April, but he is doing individual work we think is necessary."

Goalkeeper Kiko Casilla remains banned.
