Marcelo Bielsa explains decision to start Illan Meslier over Kiko Casilla on return from Leeds United suspension

HEAD COACH Marcelo Bielsa says it was not convenient for Kiko Casilla to return from suspension to the Leeds United starting line up and instead opted for the "continuity" of Illan Meslier in goal.

Spanish goalkeeper Casilla is now back available after serving an eight-game ban having been found guilty of racially abusing striker Jonathan Leko in September's 1-0 loss at Charlton Athletic.

But Casilla only returned to the bench to take the place of Kamil Miazek for Thursday's Championship hosting of Barnsley as 20-year-old French 'keeper continued his run in the side in goal.

Asked by Sky Sports what was in his thinking into making the decision, Bielsa said: "The continiuty of Illan in the team made the difference to think that it wasn't convenient to modify something of this topic."
