Marcelo Bielsa delighted with Leeds United win and clean sheet against Crystal Palace, refuses to talk Europe or safety

Leeds United might sit 10th in the table but Marcelo Bielsa is not getting carried away nor is he willing to declare them safe.

The Whites comfortably beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Elland Road, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford's goals helping them to gain revenge for the 4-1 beating in London back in November.

Bielsa was delighted with a deserved victory and the clean sheet.

"It was a deserved triumph," he said.

"We could have scored a few more goals. We defended well and conceded very few chances.

"The performance of the team was even and constant. It was an objective for today [to keep a clean sheet]. It was very important we didn't concede a goal today."

Leeds are 17th points clear of the drop zone and seven behind the top six but Bielsa, unsurprisingly, is not going to start thinking about European qualification or talk about safety from relegation.

"It's too early [to talk about the Europa League]," he said.

"Right now we don't have the consistency to imagine any higher up the table.

"It's better to only make comments on [relegation] when mathematically it's impossible to go down."

Leeds were without Pablo Hernandez, who pulled up with what Bielsa called a minor muscle injury in training, but with Raphinha, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich all causing Palace problems, the home side had little call for the Spanish playmaker.

Bielsa, who felt Klich was back to his best, was content with the threat posed by his side.

"Although in the end we didn't attack as much, throughout the game we generally caused them danger," he said.

"The team didn't lose life or vitality in the last 15 minutes. We managed the ball but we didn't stop creating danger. It was very important for us to keep the ball and when we lost the ball it was important for them not to create danger. I think we managed to do this. Although we attacked we less we didn't stop creating danger."
