Luton Town v Leeds United: Monk makes ELEVEN changes for Whites cup clash

Have your say

LEEDS United head coach Garry Monk has changed his entire team for tonight’s EFL Cup clash at Luton Town.

As part of eleven changes, Marco Silvestri starts in goal, with new signing Pontus Jansson and Sol Bamba starting at centre-back, as expected.

Lewie Coyle starts at right back with youngster Tyler Denton making his Whites debut at left back.

Luke Murphy is brought back in from the cold to start in midfield, alongside Stuart Dallas, Matt Grimes and Pablo Hernandez.

Assuming United are lining up with a 4-4-2 formation, Kemar Roofe partners Souleymane Doukara upfront.

Main striker Chris Wood has not even made the bench, a comment that also applies to centre back Kyle Bartley, with that duo both seemingly rested.

Ominously, Toumani Diagouraga also misses out, meaning his future at Leeds is surely in huge doubt.

Marcus Antonsson, Hadi Sacko, Alex Mowatt, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling and Rob Green make up the United bench.

Leeds United: Silvestri, Coyle, Jansson, Bamba, Denton, Murphy, Grimes, Hernandez, Dallas, Roofe, Doukara. Subs: Green, Ayling, Cooper, Phillips, Mowatt, Sacko, Antonsson.

Luton Town: Walton, O’Donnell, Mullins ©, Rea, Potts, Lee, McGeehan, Smith, Gray, Hylton, Marriott. Subs: Cuthbert, Cook, Mpanzu, Vassell, McQuoid, King (GK), Justin.
