Leeds United's Luke Ayling has hailed Kalvin Phillips' Euros rise after sporting an England shirt with his team-mate's name on.

The Whites full-back was spotted on social media at Wembley this afternoon ahead of tonight's highly-anticipated Euros final and joined talkSPORT at BOXPARK to discuss the Leeds midfielder ahead of kick-off.

England take on Italy in the capital for European Championship glory after Gareth Southgate's side reached their first major final for 55 years.

United academy product Phillips has been a key component for the Three Lions this summer.

The 25-year-old has started all six of England's Euros games in his debut international tournament.

Ayling - who joined Leeds in 2016 - has had a front row seat as his Elland Road team-mate has risen from a Championship squad member to one of the best defensive midfielder's in the Premier League.

“When I signed four years ago, he was a No 10 or No 8, then in the last few years, he’s just done so well in the No 4 position,” the right-back said outside Wembley wearing a Phillips shirt,

“Everybody thinks that he is just that holding midfielder but he’s got so much more to his game.

“The boy can run, can pass the ball, the boy has got everything, you have seen everybody, how happy they are for him.

“He’s the nicest boy ever and we can’t be prouder.”
