Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp highlights Leeds United 'bravery' for brilliantly finished Mateusz Klich goal

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp saw room for improvement in the defending of all three Leeds United goals, during his side's 4-3 win at Anfield yesterday.

But the German reserved praise for the manner in which Mateusz Klich finished off the move to peg the Reds back for a third time.

Leeds' first goal came from Jack Harrison, who controlled Kalvin Phillips' raking ball down the left, beat Trent Alexander-Arnold with ease and fired in a low shot from just outside the area.

The second stemmed from a rare Virgil van Dijk lapse in concentration that allowed Patrick Bamford to steal in and make the game 2-2.

And the third was all about Klich's movement and his composure to beat Alisson with a wonderful volley.

"I didn't really see us struggling defensively," said Klopp after when asked about his team's uncharacteristically leaky performance.

"You cannot defend it 100 per cent all the time."

He pinpointed the errors that led to all three goals.

"Both full-backs were deeper than the centre-backs, that should never happen in football but it happened," he said.

"The second goal was a misunderstanding between Virgil and Ali, things that can happen, should not but can happen.

"Third one, it was a throw in, our formation was moving and we didn't close one gap. The gap between Virgil and Joe [Gomez] was big as well. It's not an excuse, just an explanation. The last line played for England, Holland and Scotland four days ago, all top teams but different ways of defending. Defending is not like riding a bike. Space for improvement, always."

But by taking advantage so quickly having won the ball high up the field through Stuart Dallas, from a Liverpool throw, Leeds showed both courage and brilliance, said Klopp.

"To use a situation like that you need a game plan and bravery of Leeds in the situation," he said.

"[Klich] just showed up, got the ball and finished it off brilliantly."
