The right-back is one of a number of Leeds youngsters heading away from Elland Road to gain experience in senior football elsewhere this season.

Hosannah, 21, has been hampered by injuries since joining in 2017 after leaving Crystal Palace.

A tendinopathy of the groin took him out of action for three months during Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in charge and, upon his return, he turned his ankle.

Bielsa included Hosannah in the pre-season squad that toured Australia but a dislocated shoulder, sustained in the first 23s game against Millwall last season ruled him out for months again. Although he regained full fitness during the 2019/20 season and returned to 23s action, the form of Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas at right-back closed the door on first team opportunities for Hosannah.

An offer from a Scottish club gave Hosannah the chance to leave the Whites in January but Victor Orta rejected the move and the full-back opted to stay.

He joins Ryan Edmondson (Aberdeen), Jordan Stevens (Swindon Town) and Alfie McCalmont (Oldham Athletic) in accepting a loan deal. The club are still considering potential moves for midfielders Robbie Gotts and Mateusz Boguz.
