Leeds United: Whites planning Scottish mission

LEEDS UNITED are heading to Scotland for their pre-season tour with the club confirming details of friendlies at both Falkirk and Motherwell.

The Whites will take in a week-long training camp north of the border with their first pre-season clash coming at Scottish First Division side Falkirk on Wednesday, July 13 (7.30pm).

Simon Grayson’s men will then visit Stuart McCall’s Premier League outfit Motherwell on Saturday, July 16 (3pm) before returning home to Yorkshire.

Three previously arranged clashes with English opposition will then follow with United visiting Rochdale on Tuesday, July 19 (7.30pm) and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, July 23 (1pm) before the eagerly-awaited clash against Newcastle United at Elland Road on Sunday, July 31 (2pm).

There will also be a mid-week friendly in between the Owls and Magpies clashes to be confirmed.

However, the warm-up will begin in Scotland which will be United’s first mini-tour of the country since the summer of 1984 when Eddie Gray took his squad north of the border for matches against Raith Rovers and St Johnstone.

The club is also likely to stage a Leeds On The Road event in the Glasgow area on the Thursday ahead of the Motherwell game.
