Check out our at-a-glance guide to Leeds United v Ipswich Town.
Key Battle - Chris Wood v Tommy Smith
Reading got a huge amount of change out of Ipswich’s defence last Friday and Orlando Sa bagged a hat-trick in a 5-1 win. His goals included an header and another close-range finish and Wood would love to receive the same sort of service tonight. Mick McCarthy, on the other hand, will not tolerate another defensive display like it.
Key Man - Daryl Murphy
Murphy was the Championship’s top scorer last season and he made the shortlist for the player of the year award. His prolific form was the catalyst for Ipswich’s run to the play-offs and the club need him to hit the trail again. At the moment he’s without a goal in four games. A calf injury held him back last month.
Last time at Elland Road:
Tuesday, March 4, 2015
Leeds United 2 Ipswich Town 1
Goals: Leeds - Mowatt 71, Sharp 77. Ipswich - Sears 74
Phil Hay’s Verdict:
Ipswich don’t often suffer the sort of beating they took from Reading last week. They’ve started the season fairly well but Murphy isn’t among the goals yet and there’s clearly something to be gained from approaching Ipswich with intent. Expect a close game but one which Leeds should have opportunities to win.
Home win - 8/5
Draw - 5/2
