Cooper is absent with an abdominal strain picked up in last weekend's 6-2 loss at Manchester United and Spanish international centre-back Diego Llorente is once again not involved.

Llorente had been out with a muscular injury though Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa had said at his pre-match press conference that Llorente was in conditions to play.

But Llorente is not among the match-day 20 and the only change on the bench sees young midfielder Jack Jenkins replace Struijk who now partners Luke Ayling at centre-back.

Fellow centre back Robin Koch remains out as he recovers from knee surgery, joining long term absentee Adam Forshaw (hip) as the other injury.

Burnley are without any natural wingers with both Dwight McNeil and Robbie Brady out injured.

Academy graduate Josh Benson is therefore headed a second senior start whilst Erik Pieters also comes into the XI.
