KEY MAN - Pablo Hernandez

Leeds are approaching their final game without the banned Samu Saiz and Hernandez remains easily United’s most creative player in Saiz’s absence. Hernandez had to make do with a place on the bench in last weekend’s loss at Sheffield United after a recent injury but the 32-year-old excelled after coming on and Hernandez will surely start against the Robins if fit.

KEY BATTLE - Famara Diedhiou v Pontus Jansson

The Senegalese striker cost the Robins a club record transfer fee of £5.3m last June and the 25-year-old has already netted nine times this season with the forward bagging a brace in last weekend’s 3-3 draw at home to Sunderland. The six-foot-two forward will need to be taken care of by Pontus Jansson and also his centre-back partner Matthew Pennington.

“Leeds are now eight points off the play-offs and that gap needs slashing to five pronto if the club are to have any chance of finishing in the top six. City occupy that final play-off spot but Leeds won 3-0 at Ashton Gate earlier this season and the Robins threw away a 3-0 lead when drawing 3-3 at home to struggling Sunderland last weekend.

“Plenty of reasons for hope then on that score and United can get back on track with a victory.”
