Leeds United have a significant edge over Blackburn Rovers in the 87 all-time meetings between the two clubs, winning 37 matches to Blackburn’s 27, alongside 23 draws.
Of late, though, Rovers are on top, with United taking seven points from a possible 15 the last five times the former Premier League champions have come to Elland Road.
SUNDAY, MARCH 17, 2002 – LEEDS UNITED 3 BLACKBURN ROVERS 1
In this late-season Premier League clash, Blackburn failed to recover from an early double by Robbie Fowler.
Fowler scored two of his 14 goals for the club inside the opening eight minutes, helping his side to a 2-0 lead at the break.
Matt Jansen reduced the arrears on 49 minutes, but Harry Kewell’s strike on 79 minutes sealed the points as Leeds, who had the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Jonathan Woodgate in defence, held on.
Leeds would go on to finish fifth, qualifying for Europe, while Blackburn finished 10th in their first year back in the top tier.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2012 – LEEDS UNITED 3 BLACKBURN ROVERS 3
The first meeting between the two sides for nine years produced a fine contest where the spoils were shared.
Rovers flew out of the blocks from kick-off with Marcus Olsson and Nuno Gomes firing the visitors into a 2-0 lead after 27 minutes.
But Leeds fought back, El-Hadji Diouf netting with four minutes left of the first half before Ross McCormack levelled on 56 minutes and Luciano Becchio turned the game on its head, handing Leeds the lead on 65 minutes with his fifth goal of the season.
However, Neil Warnock’s men failed to hold on with Ruben Rochina snatching a point for the East Lancashire outfit on 84 minutes.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1, 2014 – LEEDS UNITED 1 BLACKBURN ROVERS 2
On New Years’ Day last year, Rovers took the points to extend their unbeaten run against Leeds to five matches.
Jordan Rhodes kicked off the scoring on 13 minutes before Rudy Gestede doubled his side’s advantage on 36 minutes.
Winger Gboly Ariyibi made his home debut off the bench at half-time and he helped his side back into the match after the break with Matt Smith making it 2-1 on 53 minutes.
Despite this early response, Rovers ran out 2-1 winners, going on to finish eighth at the end of the season, just two points outside the play-offs, while Leeds fell to 15th.
