United will kick-off their tournament with a visit to the Crown Ground tonight (19:00) and a young team is expected with some of Mark Jackson's Under-18s set to be involved.

Accrington began their competitive season with a 1-1 EFL Cup draw against Burton Albion last weekend before exiting the competition on penalties.

Head coach John Coleman, though, says he is looking forward to taking on Leeds ahead of his sides opening day League One clash with Peterborough United on Saturday.

"I'm looking forward to the game," Coleman admitted.

"It's another chance for us to stretch our legs and work on the system that we're playing, and work on the new players.

"What a lot of people forget is that apart from Mark Hughes, who's come back fitter than ever, every other player is under 25 who played on Friday.

"Obviously we've got Seamus Conneely to come into that but we are quite a young squad.

"We'll be giving it our best shot, I'm sure Leeds will come full of beans and have a good side out, we've got to do our best to try and win the game."

Asked about any injury concerns ahead of kick-off, he added: "Joe Pritchard got a knock, I don't think he'll be fit, but we will have plenty to be able to cope with the game."

Blackpool host Barrow at Bloomfield Road this evening in the other Group G encounter with each side playing each other just once in a bid to progress into the knockout stages.
