A GOOD point on the road – that was the consensus from Leeds United players on social media following Saturday’s televised 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
A penalty nine minutes after the break from Billy Sharp, just his second goal since joining the Whites in the summer, cancelled out Matty Fryatt’s opener in the East Midlands as Leeds ended a run of three consecutive away losses with a hard-earned point against Stuart Pearce’s side.
Sharp was left to herald not only finding the net, but being handed his first start since September 16, while captain Stephen Warnock labelled the performance of Sharp and midfielder Lewis Cook as outstanding.
Here’s some of the United players’ thoughts on Twitter.
@billysharp10: ‘Nice to get a start and a goal too #MOT
@StephenWarnock3: ‘Billy, Billy Sharp! Billy Sharp, Billy, Billy Sharp! - nice to hear that song again last night @billysharp10 - good point to build on away from home @billysharp10 and @lewiscook_ outstanding today.’
