Key Events

  • Transfer window open until 11pm on Tuesday, August 31.

Whites have ‘shown interest’ in Forest winger

Leeds United are one of several clubs to have shown an interest in Nottingham Forest’s Wales international winger Brennan Johnson, according to The Athletic. Johnson, 20, spent last season on loan at Lincoln City but already has two caps for Wales.

Whites reportedly interested in Croatian international winger

Leeds have shown some intertest in VfL Wolfsburg's Croatian international winger Josip Brekalo according to German publication SportBild. Brekalo bagged seven goals and three assists in 29 league matches last season and the 23-year-old is part of the Croatia squad at this summer's Euros. The winger has two years left on his current deal but Wolfsburg could be set to cash in and sell Brekalo for around 15 million Euros.

Club Brugges winger Noa Lang is a player Leeds like and among the possible targets in the club’s search for a winger. But Brugges boss Phillipe Clement has fired a warning to any sides looking to sign any of his club’s star players. “Today we are in a different situation,” said Clement to the media, as quoted by voetbalnieuws. “We can now refuse certain offers. Our strong players will only leave for really large amounts.”

Fresh Nahitan Nandez reports

Sardinian publication L'Unione Sarda are suggesting that a deal for Leeds to sign 25-year-old Uruguay international midfielder Nahitan Nandez is 'close.' Quite how accurate those reports are remain to be seen but L'Unione Sarda say: "For Nandez the Italian tracks of Rome and Inter are moving away, the Uruguayan is ready to leave for Leeds United. It would be the most expensive operation in history for the whites, given the release clause of the midfielder, 36 million. The negotiation will not be a flash, and is now frozen in order not to distract the player engaged in the America's Cup."

Javi Galan competition

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that both Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are looking to sign Huesca left back Javi Galan who has been linked with a move to Leeds this summer. Mundo Deportivo claim that Leeds are favourites to land his services.
