Leeds United transfer news: Orta eyes Bielsa successor, Whites star attracting major Euro interest

Leeds United’s clash against Brighton on Saturday represents a golden opportunity for the Whites to hammer home their top half credentials this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are currently on a run of six games without defeat, and have taken points from several high-flying sides, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United in that spell.

By contrast, Brighton are winless in their last four, and slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United last weekend.

But if Leeds are to take anything from their trip to the south coast, they will have to do so without star man Raphinha, who is a serious doubt for the match.

Speaking in a press conference, the Argentine confirmed that the winger could be absent for Saturday’s clash with Albion – although there was more positive news regarding record signing Rodrigo.

He said: "Rodrigo is healthy, that doesn't mean he's fit to play. We will see how many minutes he can play," said Bielsa.

"[For Raphinha] more than serious, it's more difficult to give a diagnostic or prognosis of when he will be able to return. It's a hit which created an internal hematoma.

“Until that disappears it causes pain and inhibits the mobility. This can be resolved quickly or take longer. When it reduces and he is no longer in pain then he will return quickly.

"The impression is we're in the final stages before he's finally healed."
