Leeds United transfer news: Fresh boost revealed in Whites transfer saga, Agent confirms West Ham talks

Leeds United look set for another intriguing summer as they continue to build and develop a squad capable of challenging in the higher reaches of the Premier League.

The Whites secured a ninth-place finish in the top flight with a win over West Brom last Sunday, and capped off a stellar campaign with the long-awaited return of fans to Elland Road.

The match took on a celebratory feel for other reasons too, chief among them being the tributes paid to departing duo Gaetano Berardi and Pablo Hernandez.

The pair will leave Elland Road this summer after establishing themselves as crucial components in the Whites’ promotion efforts in recent years, and both were given fitting ovations against the Baggies.

Reflecting in his time in Yorkshire, Berardi made it clear that he has loved his time with the club.

"It's difficult. I was realising this in the last weeks," said the Swiss defender, asked by LUTV about moving on from the city of Leeds itself.

"I was thinking about this, you are leaving the city, you are leaving the people, you are leaving the club and it's sad, it's really sad and it's hard.

"But this is life and of course there will be a chance to come back here. I don't know when, just to see games or watch some games and to see some people.

"It's not over forever so I am happy to leave with these feelings and to bring something important from this experience with me."
