Wales striker Tyler Roberts has signed a new deal to keep him at Leeds United until 2024 - in case you missed the big announcement yesterday.

“I’m extremely happy to be signing,” said the 22-year-old.

“It’s a club I have a lot of love for and a lot of passion for, I’m just happy to get it done and know that my future is here.

“It’s been great to know the club and the manager especially has that faith in me to see my future here. I’m excited. It’s been a good few years and we’ve done some amazing things but now it’s time for more exciting things, pushing on and keep improving.”

A financial settlement worth a combined £22million has been reached between England’s six Super League rebel clubs and the Premier League, it was announced last night.

A statement from the Premier League said: “The six clubs involved in proposals to form a European Super League have today acknowledged once again that their actions were a mistake, and have reconfirmed their commitment to the Premier League and the future of the English game.

“They have wholeheartedly apologised to their fans, fellow clubs, the Premier League and The FA.

“As a gesture of goodwill, the clubs have collectively agreed to make a contribution of £22million which will go towards the good of the game, including new investment in support for fans, grassroots football and community programmes.

“Furthermore, the clubs have agreed to support rule changes so that any similar actions in the future would lead to a 30-point deduction. Each of the six clubs, in that event, would also be subject to an additional £25 million fine.

“The Premier League and The FA have worked closely together throughout this process and this agreement brings both investigations into the matter to a conclusion.”

Pablo Hernandez’s next move will be kept a close eye on by Leeds United fans.

The 36-year-old departed Elland Road this summer after a five-year stay and leaves West Yorkshire a club legend.

He has been linked with a move to FC Cartagena in today’s Marca edition.

He kept very coy in his potential next move recently, saying: “My last game with Leeds was like a farewell. Next season I will look for other interesting options.”

Hernandez has been linked with a move back to boyhood club Castellon - a team he is a shareholder of - while Cartagena in the Spanish Segunda Division are also now reported to be an option.
