Spanish international forward Rodrigo suffered what looked like a groin problem in last weekend's game against Leicester City. The Whites' record signing attempted to run it off but was unable to carry on and missed the midweek clash with Everton.

Winger Poveda was hurt in a challenge during the Under 23s game at home to Sunderland at Thorp Arch on Monday. He came on as a half-time substitute and had to be helped from the field 10 minutes later having suffered an ankle injury.

"It all depends on the evolution of their injuries," said Bielsa ahead of Monday's visit to Elland Road of Crystal Palace.

"It's not a question of days, more of weeks."

Bielsa said a still image of Rodrigo taken during the win over Leicester City showed exactly what had injured him.

"In the game against Leicester Rodrigo fell and his legs separated and it caused an elongation more than usual and this caused the injury," said the head coach.

"I saw a picture of the position in which both his feet ended up and the distance between them was different to what we would expect."
