Leeds United rumours: Whites consider signing in-demand striker as Andrea Radrizzani weighs up shock Marcelo Bielsa successor

Kiko Casilla was brought back into Leeds United’s matchday squad for the 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Elland Road.

The 34-year-old caused quite a stir last week when he posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account, just a few days after his West Ham exclusion.

A number of supporters assumed it was in relation to his absence at the London Stadium, however Casilla hit back – claiming it was purely about personal matters.

He said: “Honestly, there are people with very boring lives. I have not said anything bad about the club or my situation.

"They are personal things, nothing to do with Leeds. #mot”.

Indeed, it still raises questions about the former Real Madrid’s man future at Elland Road, especially now he is playing second fiddle to Illan Meslier.

Should Casilla leave this summer, former Whites defender Danny Mills believes the club will target an experienced replacement.

He told Football Insider: “Maybe a keeper coming towards the end of his career like (Nigel) Martyn who accepts he isn’t going to play week in, week out but is still a good professional, is going to train hard, push the number one goalkeeper to improve them day in, day out.

“You get that good balance so if you do need somebody to step in you’ve got good experience and it’s not a problem.

“And it’s good for a young goalkeeper to learn their trade that way.”

Meanwhile, Hibernian striker Ethan Laidlaw spent last week on trial at Thorp Arch, according to the Daily Record.

The 16-year-old striker signed his first professional contract with Hibs in February having joined their academy at the age of 10.

Laidlaw is described as an “agile, quick and skillful attacking player” as he attracts interest from clubs across the Premier League:
