Leeds United right-back Lewie Coyle has joined Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan.
The defender is linking up with former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler at Highbury Stadium after training with the League One club yesterday.
United revealed this afternoon that Coyle had agreed a new three-year contract prior to completing his move, tying himself to Elland Road until 2020.
Coyle worked under Rosler during the German’s short reign as United manager in 2015 and the loan will open the door to regular first-team football.
Coyle - a former Under-21s captain at Elland Road - is highly rated by Leeds but has seen his first-team opportunities limited by injuries and competition around him.
Luke Ayling was United’s regular right-back last season and Coyle made just four Championship appearances under Garry Monk.
The 21-year-old is joining a club who reached the League One play-off semi-finals in May.
