The EFL revealed last night that nine cases of coronavirus were picked up at six clubs in the division, after 1,094 players and club staff members were tested.

Today the Daily Mail report that at least one of the positive tests came from Leeds United.Leeds' policy on testing is not to comment on the results of their players and staff.

Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town have all confirmed they have had a positive result in this round of tests.

EFL protocol says that those who test positive must isolate for seven days and cannot return to training grounds before testing negative.

In the Premier League only one positive test came back this week and Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they have an unnamed individual who is asymptomatic now self-isolating.

Leeds returned to full training this week and were expected to hold their first murderball session today at Thorp Arch.

The provisional restart date for the Championship is the weekend of June 20. Fixtures are yet to be confirmed and clubs will need the approval of their local Safety Advisory Group to stage matches at their home grounds.

Premier League clubs have been told they can take part in friendly games before their June 17 restart, under strict guidelines. Championship clubs are yet to receive approval for friendlies from the EFL.

EFL clubs are to meet next Tuesday to consider proposed amendments to the regulations, regarding the way in which the season finishes if it cannot be played.
