Leeds United reach agreement with Real Sociedad for transfer of Diego Llorente

LEEDS United have reached an agreement in principle with Real Sociedad to sign Spanish international defender Diego Llorente.

The YEP understands that while the clubs have agreed a fee that could be worth up to £20m, the move is still pending personal terms and a medical.

Right-footed centre-back Llorente can also play in the holding midfield role and the 27-year-old has five caps for the Spanish national side with the defender an unused substitute for both of this month's Nations League games.

Llorente has made 138 appearances in La Liga including two for Real Madrid with whom he began his career.

The six-foot-one Spaniard left Real to sign for Sociedad in June 2017, joining for around £7m on a five-year deal.
